When Tesla Account Linking Does Not Complete

Troubleshoot failed return-to-app, link failure, and missing vehicles in one flow.

Symptoms

  • After Tesla login, the app does not open again.
  • An error screen appears instead of completion.
  • Linking appears done, but no vehicles are shown.

Possible Causes

  • Deep-link handoff from browser to app failed.
  • VPN, ad blocker, or firewall interrupted OAuth flow.
  • Signed in with a different Tesla account than the vehicle owner account.

Immediate Actions

  • Disable VPN, ad blockers, and firewall and retry.
  • Change default browser and retry linking.
  • Verify Tesla app email and DR.EV linked account email are identical.
  • If needed, unlink and link again.

If It Still Fails

  • Send app version, OS version, timestamp, error text, and screenshots.
  • Provide exact failure step in sequence for reproducibility.
